HE is the midfield Star, Egypt and Al Ahly play maker who anyone cannot dispute the facts that, he is the 2008 BBC African Footballer of the year.

He is the second Egyptians to win the award after his club and International colleague, Mohamed Barakat, won in 2005.

He beat 2007 winner, Arsenal’s striker Emmanuel Adebayor, Chelsea’s Didier Drogba, Barcelona’s Samuel Eto’o and Ahly’s Amr Zaki to the Title.

According to Ahly coach, Manuel Joss, Mohamed Aboutrika is a key player, he can do what other players cannot do.

Dispite of his brilliance in the football pitch, Aboutrika has dicided to offer his sympathy to Palestinians who suffers the aftermaths of Israel bombings.

He helped his country to win the Africa cup of Nations and his club to take the African Champions league for a record sixth time, now he is determined to help Palestinians.

Ahly’s ace has joined other African football stars including Freddie Kanoute to show public support for the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.

In his letter published in Ahly’s official website Aboutrika suggested that his club or Egypt play against a high profile team to raise money for families of Palestinians.

He called on Egyptians and muslims over the world to pray for the Palestians, and asked Egypt Foootball Association or any private foundation to take initiatives of organizing the match.
