‘Just as children need Breast milk to grow, adults need it too’

A nutritionist, Ms Ngozi Eze, has advised Nigerians to add milk or milk products to their diets to ensure growth and strong bones.

The advice came against the background of the World Milk Day celebrated on Friday.

In an interview Eze underscored the need to sensitize the public about the importance of milk.

According to her, just as children need milk to grow, adults need (breast milk..??) it because

it contains
proteins essential for normal body function.

She also said milk and milk-derived products were “basic, easy-to-find food loaded with nutrients”, adding that they are among the richest sources of calcium essential for bone repair and strengthening.

The Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) declared June 1 as World Milk Day and it is celebrated globally.
