He may be Hollywood’s nice guy but
Will Smith showed that it is not a good idea to cross him last week when
he slapped a TV prankster who tried to kiss him on the red carpet.
However
the actor, 43, was back to his smiling self when he spoke out about the
situation during an interview on the Late Show with David Letterman.
He kept a good sense of humour as he told the talk show host of the ordeal: ‘It was just awkward.’
Meanwhile, the Ukranian reporter who planted the kiss has also come forward to apologise.

Letterman
grilled the star over the incident, which took place at the Moscow
premiere of Men In Black 3, as he said:
‘You beat up a guy who was
trying to hug you.’
Laughing, Will exclaimed, ‘I didn’t beat up a guy!’
He then gave the host and the audience a run-down of the situation.

Vitalii Seduik told Hip Hollywood next time he meets Will, he will 'just shake his hand' instead
He
explained: ‘He says, “I'm you're biggest fan, can I have a hug?” So I
go to give this joker a hug, and he tries to lean in and kiss me!’
The
man in question is Vitalii Sediuk, a prankster for a Ukrainian TV show,
best known for presenting Madonna with a bunch of hydrangeas – her most
loathed flower.
In a new video with Hip Hollywood, he apologises for the random emotional outburst, saying: 'I apologise for my behaviour... I think it was too much.
'I just wanted to do something extraordinary to impress him.'
Vitalii
stressed 'I don't kiss every man or women when I see them in the
street' and wisely stated that should he meet Will again, he will 'just
shake his hand' instead.

Will gave Vitalii Sediuk, best known for presenting Madonna with a bunch of hydrangeas, a little slap
Will says the team of the man in question later apologised for the incident.
He recalled: ‘They were like, “Oh, no, we're sorry, you know. It's just his shtick, you know.”’
And the star offered a cutting comeback in return: ‘I said, “Well, that's why his a** got shtuck.”’
Will
recently told the BBC that he thinks he would be perfect to play Barack
Obama in a biopic of the President’s life – because they have the same
ears.
He said: ‘It's
about the ears, that's the thing. People see the ears and Barack and I
both have the ears, so I'm the most natural choice.
‘I
told [Obama] jokingly, “It's definitely something I would consider, you
just have to write the ending.” So he's working on the ending right
now.’

Will happily chatted to fans and posed for photos when he arrived at the studios in New York

Will
has previously said that Obama’s story is so unbelievable, the idea of a
movie about his life would seem ridiculous if it hadn’t actually
happened.
He said:
‘Imagine if President Obama hadn't won, and somebody pitched a
screenplay where a black man named Barack Obama runs for president and
wins.
‘It's the worst
screenplay you've ever read, it's awful! Who'd waste their time writing
that fake story? It'll never happen! Life is far stranger than fiction
can ever be.’
