Suarez adaiwa kuwatukana mashabiki kwa kidole

KENNY DALGLISH leapt to the defence of Luis Suarez after the Liverpool striker was caught giving Fulham fans the finger.

The Uruguay star vented his frustration after Clint Dempsey's late winner stunned 10-man Liverpool.

Fulham fans accused him of diving and branded him a cheat — but Dalglish labelled the abuse hurled at his player "scandalous".

The Kop boss added: "We'll look after Luis as best we can and I think it's about time he got a bit of protection from some people.

"His integrity is impeccable. He can look in the mirror and go to bed at night and sleep soundly. If other people can do that then fine. All we ask is to be fair, is to be honest."

Suarez, who is fighting an FA charge of racially abusing Manchester United Patrice Evra, had a goal disallowed and shouts for a penalty turned down before ref Kevin Friend sent off Jay Spearing for a wild tackle on Moussa Dembele.

Midfielder Spearing won the ball but followed through on the Fulham man.

Dalglish added: "Jay never had another thought in his mind but to win the ball — and he did win it.

"As long as referees are consistent, it's not a problem. But I don't think we were going to get anything tonight, were we?"

Fulham boss Martin Jol said: "I saw it from three angles and it was a bad one. He could have broken his ankle — I think it was a sending off."
