Talk show host Jeff Koinange appeared before a Nairobi court after he was arrested earlier to face contempt-of-court charges.
Mr
Koinange had driven himself on Tuesday morning to Milimani Law Courts
with uniformed police officers inside his car and was taken to the
prosecution’s office for processing.
A warrant of arrest had been issued against him and businessmen Tony Gachoka for disobeying a court order.
The
two are accused of discussing businessman Jimi Wanjigi, Sani Mbui
Wanjigi and Kwacha Group of Companies Ltd during Mr Koinange’s Jeff Koinange Live show despite an order barring the discussion.
On Monday, Mr Koinange and Mr Gachoka failed in an attempt to stop their arrests.
In
their applications to lift the warrants filed through lawyer Gitobu
Imanyara, they argued that the magistrate treated them unfairly and
refused to listen to explanations why they failed to attend court.
