A court in Abuja today, sentenced two women – 35 year old Binta Mamman and 19 year old Safiya Aliyu – to five months imprisonment for slapping a police man.
The women were also charged for using abusive language and public nuisance. The presiding judge Malam Aminu Sa’ad, handed down the sentence after the women pleaded guilty to assaulting the police officer.
Additionally, the judge gave them an option of N20,000 for the other
two counts charge – which includes the use of abusive language and
public nuisance.
