So Arsene Wenger was right. In the moments after Arsenal had secured their place in the FA Cup final, he predicted with certainty that Everton would falter when the pressure increased.

Not even in Wenger's dreams, though, could he have foreseen Everton make such a startling blunder at the first hurdle.

From being in control of their destiny, knowing five wins from five games would secure a place in the Champions League, Everton are now relying on favours after being unceremoniously flattened by Crystal Palace at Goodison Park.

Palace were brilliant in extending their winning spree to a fourth game and securing the their top-flight status for next season; goals from Jason Puncheon, Scott Dann and Cameron Jerome gave them a 3-2 verdict that, once again, highlighted the outstanding work Pulis has overseen at Selhurst Park.
