A positive attitude in office can make the difference

Four months into the year but no signs of getting a pay rise or permanent employment. More often, an employee is likely to develop a negative attitude in the work place. This is likely to lower productivity and creativity.

Attitude can make all the difference in the work place when creating a positive result outlook. According to Mary Mwaniki, a human resource practitioner and director at Career Care, the best way to develop a positive attitude at the work place is by starting to look at your job with ‘kind eyes.’

“Take some time and write down the positive aspects of your job and your employer such as working in a media house where you have the opportunity to interact with who is who in the country,” says Ms Mwanini.

 Low pay Mwaniki observes that looking at you work this way removes the negative attitude bordering on low pay— and the fact that you have not been promoted for years.

 She points out that in case you have a problem at home, you should not tell everyone how difficult your life is. This will make you appreciate your work more and as a result, your attitude will be noticed in the company,” she says.
