A British judge said that he handed down an extremely light sentence to a
convicted child rapist because the defendant realized that what she did
was wrong, according to court proceedings in the United Kingdom.
The incident began when Loren Morris, 21, of Herefordshire, started sleeping with an 8-year-old boy when she was just 16 years old.
The court has heard that the woman slept with the child more than fifty times. The mother of one, was convicted of three counts of sexual activity with a child last month.

This week, Judge Robert Juckes said he
would be lenient because she stopped having sex with the boy when she
realized it was wrong.
The judge also said that he is taking into account the shame the defendant suffered because of her conviction. He sentenced her to two years in jail, but ordered her released in one year.
Morris was also banned from having contact with a child under 16 years old without parental permission, and was ordered to register as a sex offender for the next ten years.
