Meredith Claire Powell, a math teacher at Tacoma’s Lincoln High School, has been accused of having sexual contact with students.

 A COMMUNITY is in shock after learning of the alleged debaucherous antics of a high school teacher after she was arrested on charges of child rape. 

Meredith Claire Powell is accused of engaging in sexual intercourse or sexual contact with three male students at Lincoln High School in Washington, US.

Meredith Powell is facing rape charges.

The maths teacher, 24, allegedly performed oral sex on a 15-year-old student and engaged in sexual contact with a 16-year-old while the rest of the school was attending an assembly, The Huffington Post reports.


After receiving a text from another male student describing how he was “turned on thinking about her”, a drunk Powell responded that “he was hot, too”. She then sent him a nude selfie in a bathtub.

Powell allegedly engaged in sexual acts in her Lincoln High Classroom. 

Powell’s antics unravelled after she apologised to one of the boys’ girlfriends for exchanging “promiscuous” and “unprofessional” texts.

Pierce County Superior Court documents reveal the incidents took place last month. The boys were aged between 15 and 17. She was arrested last Thursday and placed on unpaid leave.

At her arraignment, she was released without bail.

According to court documents, obtained by The News Tribute, Meredith Claire Powell is alleged to have exchanged sexually suggestive text messages one one of the alleged victims, inviting him to her home and giving him the address. Powell is alleged to have written the victim’s girlfriend an apology letter for her behavior.

Meredith Claire Powell allegedly exchanged sexually explicit text messages as well as two nude photos of herself with a second alleged victim and also allegedly engaged in kissing and fondling with him and performed oral sex on him. She allegedly kissed and fondled a third alleged victim in her classroom. 

The News Tribute also quotes directly from the court documents as follows: “The defendant admitted she allowed herself to feel too comfortable with a student.”

Her lawyer, Wayne Fricke, described her as “frightened, very young and confused”, according to The News Tribune .

Powell has no previous criminal convictions. Her trial is set for April 24.
