LUIS SUAREZ has finally admitted the real reason he wants to quit Liverpool — to play in the Champions League.
The striker previously claimed in an interview on Uruguayan TV that he was
after a move because he got a rough deal from the English media and the FA
for racially abusing Manchester United’s Patrice Evra and biting Chelsea’s
Branislav Ivanovic.
But his agent Pere Guardiola met Reds boss Brendan Rodgers and MD Ian Ayre at
the Melwood training ground yesterday and revealed a lack of European
football was a big factor in his client, 26, wanting out.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger indicated he was willing to pay £30million for
Suarez but the Kop told him it would take £40m just to get around the
negotiating table.
Real Madrid are also waiting to pounce.
