Arsenal captain Thomas Vermaelen has heaped praise on in-form Tomas Rosicky, saying the Czech international is technically "almost perfect".
Rosicky scored both Arsenal goals in last weekend's vital win at West
Bromwich Albion, and Vermaelen - who was watching from the bench as
Rosicky grabbed his brace - enjoyed the show.
Speaking to the official matchday programme, the Belgian defender
said: "Tomas scored two good goals so we are all pleased for him.
"The first one was not easy, because it looked like a hard cross from Gervinho. It was a good move and ball from Gervinho to set it up and a great finish from Tomas. I didn't have a good view of his second one, but it looked like a nice volley."
The 32-year-old Czech schemer started only his second Premier League
game of the campaign last Saturday, after a frustrating time with
injuries, but he has hit a similar level of form to this time last year,
when Rosicky proved instrumental in Arsenal's surge to a third-place
finish.
"Tomas has always been a great player for us," Vermaelen added. "He
has been unlucky with injuries this season but his technical qualities
are amazing.
"He's a popular guy around the Club, he's been here for a long time,
he knows everyone and we all get on with him because he is really
relaxed. On the pitch he is reliable, always available to receive the
ball and his technique is almost perfect."
