Rodney Dwayne Valentine |
Deputies arrested a man at the Rockingham
County Jail within hours of his release, according to the Rockingham
County Sheriff's Office.
Rodney Dwayne Valentine, 37, was arrested on May 22 for an injury to personal property charge.
He was released from
the jail on July 21; but, deputies told WBTV, he wouldn't leave.
Deputies say that Valentine was released from the jail at 8 a.m., and was still there at 1 p.m.
Then, he began
insisting that deputies give him a ride to a local motel.
Deputies recommended that Valentine find some other way to get there, and even suggested he simply get a cab to take him to the motel.
But Valentine did not want to do this, and began
refusing to leave the property despite the deputies' repeated request
that he do so, deputies say.
After being warned several times, deputies rearrested Valentine for second degree trespassing and placed him back in the Rockingham County Jail under a $500 secured bond.
He is scheduled to appear in court on August 9 on these new charges.
