A THREE-YEAR-OLD boy was fighting for his life in a hospital today after apparently shooting himself in the head.
It is believed the child, identified by 10TV as Lucas Heagren, got a
gun from on top of a television at his family home in Mount Vernon,
Ohio.
His parents and two younger siblings were home at the time, about 6.30pm local time, a relative told the local news station.
The boy was first taken to a local hospital then helicoptered to Akron Children's Hospital, where he was in critical condition.
Police recovered a gun from the house and are investigating, with one describing the incident as an "unfortunate accident".
