THE MUM of Man City ace Mario Balotelli last night told of her joy at being reunited after giving him up as a child.

Relieved Rose Barwuah, 46, added: "I am happy to see him and he is happy to see me."

The Sun told on Sunday how Rose moved from Italy to the tough estate featured in TV's Shameless to be near the striker, 21, in the hope of rekindling their relationship.

Her £120,000-a-week son — who she handed to a rich foster family when he was two — now often shows up in his white Bentley GT at her £550-a-month rented terrace.

Rose said: "Mario has been over to see me a few times, but he doesn't want people to know I'm here. We don't see each other all the time as he has his life and I have mine.

"He's a private person and it's still early days." She added: "I haven't even been to watch him play football here yet, but I'm very proud of him. I'm thrilled, overjoyed to be here."

Rose and daughter Angel, 13, moved to Manchester's Wythenshawe area just before Christmas. Angel now goes to a local school.

Nineteen years ago in Italy, she and hubby Thomas were advised to hand Mario to foster parents — the Balotellis.

The couple were then living in a tiny flat in Brescia — and claimed the Balotellis turned Mario against them.

The mother of Manchester City striker Mario Balotelli has moved into a tough council estate made famous by TV show 'Shameless' as she attempts to re-build a troubled relationship with the son she gave away at the age of two.

Ghanaian-born Rose Barwuah, 46, moved from Italy to Wythenshawe in Manchester and is making ends meet in a rented property.

Her attempt seems to be working, as £120,000-a-week Balotelli has been seen vising the estate in his white Bentley GT, and taking his natural mother to the local shops or out for a drink in the local pub.

The estate, where rents are around £550-a-month, is a far cry from the 21-year-old player's usual haunts - he splits his time between a £3m mansion or a £975-a-night suite at Manchester's Hilton Hotel.

Balotelli was adopted as a two-year-old after his parents were persuaded by social workers to give him away.

The family were struggling to make ends meet in a cramped flat in Brescia, Italy, and Mario was recovering from an expensive operation to his intestines.

The future Premiership star would sometimes return to play with his younger brother Enoch, but the visits dried up as the boy got older.

When his natural mother moved to Manchester, the footballer angrily claimed she were just after his money.

But a neighbour told The Sun: 'Mario has started coming round more often. He sometimes strolls to the shop for her.

''He has been friendly too and signed some kits. He has been to the local pub, The Tudor, and even put money behind the bar. It is lovely that he and Rose are close again.'
While Balotelli may live in a £3m mansion, his mother Rose is living in Wythenshawe, where Channel 4's Shameless was filmed

She added: ''Rose is doing this herself to show it is not about money. This is the house she can afford. All she wants to do is to get to know her son.

'Rose has settled in here. She works at Wythenshawe Market, setting off before 6am to put out the stalls for traders.'

Balotelli's natural father Thomas is thought to be in Ghana, with plans to move to Manchester at a later date.

Rose's daughter Angel, 13, has also moved to the UK with her mother.

Another neighbour told The Sun that Rose as a 'religious woman who goes to church every Sunday.

'All she has ever wanted was to rebuild their relationship and now it looks like her prayers have been answered.
