Wenger - Van Persie si mchezo, sing'oki Arsenal

ARSENE WENGER hailed "exceptional" Robin van Persie after his brace saved Arsenal at Norwich.

The striker netted either side of half time after Steve Morison had opened the scoring for the Canaries.

And Gunners boss Wenger beemed: "He's exceptional but we all know within the club that he's an exceptional player.

"Sometimes, what was in the way was the fact he was injured.

"Since he plays, he shows just how good he is."

Wenger was particularly pleased with the spirited nature of the win.

He added: "We have shown our mental strength again today.

"It's down to team attitude and confidence, as well. There is a good attitude and spirit in the squad."

Wenger also clarified reports in France that suggested he was considering leaving at the end of the season.

The Frenchman said: "I am completely committed to this club. It is the club of my life.

"It was a conversation where I said that if you don't do well enough, that is the only way I would consider it.

"Only if I am below what is expected of the club."
