Amzawadia goli marehemu mwanawe

Championship footballer who played and scored for his club three days after the death of his newborn son has called the goal the most important of his career.

Billy Sharp turned out for Doncaster Rovers' 3-1 defeat by Middlesbrough on Tuesday after it was announced his two-day-old Luey Jacob Sharp passed away on Saturday.

Despite the disappointment, he captained the team and opened the scoring with 14th-minute wonder goal, which he celebrated by lifting up his strip to reveal a T-shirt bearing the slogan 'That's for you, son'.

In the early hours of yesterday morning, Sharp used his Twitter account to thank fans of both teams for the pre-match tribute - a minute of applause before kick-off - and to describe some of the emotions he had felt.

'My goal tonight was the most important goal of my career dedicated to my brave boy luey jacob sharp I love u son sleep tight.thatsforyouson,' he wrote.
