Angola is due to start exporting liquid natural gas (LNG) to the United States when the country’s first liquid natural gas processing unit starts operating.
Revealing this to Rádio Nacional de Angola, the director-general of the Angola LNG project, Daniel Rocha, also said that exports of a large proportion of the country’s natural gas production would begin in the first quarter of 2012, and would go to the United States initially.
He added that the company was analysing the feasibility of exporting natural gas to other markets, specifically to Europe and Asia, where he said, “we can get better profit margins.”
