Tiger Woods' new 22-year-old girlfriend drew the golfing star crayon drawings before his tournaments to wish him luck, sources say.

Alyse Lahti Johnson, whose stepfather lives next door to Woods in Windermere, Florida, has known the sportsmen since she was young.

'They had photos in their house of their family with Tiger,' a friend told Us Weekly. 'But Alyse never said she was interested in him!'

The pair began dating after seeing each other at a New Year's function thrown by her stepfather, who is also an executive at Woods' sports agency IMG.

This week it emerged that Miss Johnston, a university student, was also close firneds with Elin Nordegren before her split from Tiger.

'Tiger Woods has been my next door neighbour for 15 years and Alyse has known him all her life,' her stepfather Alistair Johnston told the Scottish Sun newspaper.

'They are part of the same crowd that are the same age and go to the gym and out to dinner together.'Do they spend time together? Yes', he added.

It is unclear how close Alyse and Elin's relationship was but they appear to have run in the same circles and met each other at several social events over the years.

It has emerged that Alyse, a keen young golfer, was introduced to the superstar golfer by her coach.

The two have apparently been dating for several weeks and have been spotted lounging on Woods' super yacht in Palm Beach, close to where Lahti Johnston is studying.
