Andres Iniesta confessed that he has mixed feelings after Spain's 1-1 draw against Italy in its Euro 2012 Group C opener on Sunday.

"It's a bittersweet feeling having drawn as we would have liked to come out with a win," Iniesta said to reporters.

The Barcelona star admitted that La Roja should have bagged all three points against the Azzurri.

Iniesta is confident that Vicente del Bosque's side will improve in the next two group games.

"It was an intense game against a strong team with quality players who are one of the favourites. We played well and I'm confident we will do better in the next two games," Iniesta said.

He added, "Regardless of our opponents we need to worry about our own form. We had chances but we missed them ourselves and now we will come up against a different rival [Republic of Ireland]. The key is how we feel but I'm confident we'll play a great match."

Spain takes on Giovanni Trapattoni's men in Gdansk on June 14.
