Cisse- Sijawahi kufunga bao zuri kama nililowafunga Chelsea

Newcastle United striker Papiss Cisse has named his second goal against Chelsea on Wednesday night as the best of his career to date.

The 26-year-old struck twice, the first a smart volley on the turn and the second a wonderful half-volley hit with the outside of his foot from the left side of the penalty area that swerved over Petr Cech and into the far top corner to send the Magpies to a 2-0 win.

Cisse has been labelled as the signing of the season by many - despite only joining Newcastle in January - after hitting 13 goals in just 12 appearances. And the Senegal international admitted he was delighted with his latest effort at Stamford Bridge.

"It was a wonderful goal. It was the best goal of my career. I was so happy to score it," Cisse told the Shields Gazette. "When the ball came to me, I was only thinking about scoring. It was an instinctive finish.

"I was also pleased with my first goal. It was important for the team. It was a good evening for me and the team. I came to the Premier League to show my quality, and everything is going well. I'm enjoying my football. Everything is good on and off the pitch."

Cisse’s impact was instant when he joined from Freiburg four months ago, coming on as a substitute against Aston Villa to score the winner with another volley from the edge of the area.

Demba Ba notched 15 goals before his strike partner’s arrival but has only managed one since, so Cisse knows his goals have become imperative to Newcastle’s surprise challenge for a top-four finish.

With a game against top of the table Manchester City coming up, Cisse knows Champions League qualification is still a tough ask.

"It's not going to be easy, but we have confidence, which is important. We believe in each other," he said. "We hope to play in the Champions League, and we will work hard to achieve that."
