The 41-year-old presided over his last game in charge at Camp Nou on Saturday, and he could not speak more glowingly about the support he has been given during his tenure.
Four goals from Lionel Messi gave the former
midfielder a fitting end to his time in Barcelona as the derby encounter
with Mauricio Pochettino's men would be his last game at Camp Nou.
However, speaking after the match, Guardiola
preferred to focus his last post-match reaction on the team's
supporters, whom he commended for their unbridled passion.
"Life has given me this gift. During the past
four years I have been close to you [the fans] and these players. I'm
privileged," he stated.
"I hope you, the fans, have enjoyed some good times with the team. We have felt you close to us.
"You do not know how lucky I am. I will miss
you a lot, but I am confident that you will be in good hands [referring
to the appointment of Tito Vilanova].
"I must take off my seat belt now but you all must remain seated and you'll have a great time."
