ROBERTO MANCINI admits Manchester City will be waiting to pounce if Robin van Persie leaves Arsenal this summer.RVP has just over a year remaining on his Gunners contract and City boss Mancini said: "We are interested in all good players.
"I think all the good teams are interested in him. At this moment Van Persie is one of the best strikers in Europe with Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Sergio Aguero and Mario Balotelli.
"If there is a good player who wants to leave a club, then we are interested.
"I think he is a fantastic striker but I think he will remain with Arsenal."
City have signed four players from the North Londoners in the last three years — Samir Nasri, Gael Clichy, Kolo Toure and Emmanuel Adebayor.
Mancini knows Dutchman Van Persie, 28, will come at a hefty price.
He added: "If he leaves I don't think he will be cheap because he has one year left on his contract.
"If, for example, you wanted to buy Napoli's Edinson Cavani he would be maybe £30million.
"I think Van Persie will sign a new contract. He is Arsenal's best player and it is difficult for them to give him to another club."
Mancini is in Portugal preparing to face Sporting Lisbon tonight in the last 16 of the Europa League.
And the Italian has his eyes on a Premier League and Euro double.
He said: "We have six games to get to the final — we want to win the final if it's possible."
