Manchester United have announced the signing of Juan Mata from Chelsea for a fee of £37.1million.

The Spanish midfielder was greeted by manager David Moyes on Saturday, with Mata expected to make his debut in Tuesday's Barclays Premier League encounter with Cardiff at Old Trafford.

Moyes has broken the club's transfer record and admitted that he will be the first of many to join United under his stewardship.
