Wenger- Tupo vizuri, tunajua tunachokitaka

“The mood is very strong, very united and very focused. We know where our priorities are - the Premier League and the Champions League. We are in a strong position in the league and that is why we are positive right now.

“It was a disappointment on Tuesday, I cannot deny that, and we want to come back in a very strong way. But this is a big game for us in a completely different competition and we want to respond well.”

Arsène Wenger was philosophical and determined in equal measure after the defeat to Chelsea in midweek.

It may have given the ‘I-told-you-so’s a little more support to their argument but the Arsenal manager has spent the first nine games playing down his side’s start to the season. So he was always going to be able to ride out a couple of defeats to some of the best teams in Europe.

“Certainly, yes [it’s a big week] considering the quality of the opponents,” he said.

“But we have a good opportunity on Saturday to make a difference and we want to take it. We play against Liverpool at home, it's an exciting game but, as well, it's of massive importance for us.”
