As any blushing bride would undoubtedly agree, it's nice to be surrounded by friends and family on the big day.
But for these happy girls, there was safety in numbers as they got hitched in a mass wedding in India.
The
 47 Muslim brides all wore peach saris with a covering veil as they 
waited for the ceremony in the western Indian city of Ahmedabad to 
begin.

The grooms in traditional 
outfits are given food while their brides put a thumbprint on the 
marriage certificate and sign it
 They sat next to each other 
excitingly chatting as religious leaders put their thumbprints on the 
marriage certificate and signed it while the grooms watched nearby.
The act signified the bride's
 agreement to the wedding in front of a relative - a ritual known as the
 'Nikah Kabool Hai' or 'Do You Agree for the Marriage' section.
The
 grooms were all dressed in traditional outfit, but one of the men 
couldn't resist making a quick mobile call for last-minute advice.
Mass weddings in India are quite common - giving poor people a good ceremony or held  on an auspicious date of the year.
