R Kelly kutoimba tena?

R. Kelly has been hospitalized after emergency throat surgery in Chicago, forcing him to give up performing for an unknown period while he recuperates, the singer's spokesman said Wednesday.

Kelly, 44, had complained of throat pain and was rushed on Tuesday to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where surgeons the same day drained an abscess on one of his tonsils, spokesman Allan Mayer said.

The Chicago native will be "laid up indefinitely" as he heals, he said.

Matatizo yanazidi kumuandama R Kelly, sasa kuna taarifa pia kwamba anadaiwa kodi.

R Kelly has failed to pay $837,000 (£509,505) in federal taxes, it has been revealed.

The 'I Believe I Can Fly' star failed to pay the sum and was faced with a tax lien by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) filed in the singer's native Chicago, reports The Detroit News.

The amount is said to be separate from the $1,036,858 (£631,163) tax lien against Kelly which the IRS lifted last month.

Kelly has faced multiple financial troubles in recent months.

He was sued last month in LA County Superior Court by his former manager for failure to pay for services rendered.

He is also currently facing a $2.9m (£1.8m) foreclosure suit on his Chicago-area mansion after not paying his mortgage since in June 2010.

Kelly recently underwent an emergency throat operation which will prevent him from singing "indefinitely", though he has vowed to return to performing in the near future.
