Barcelona- We are leaders

Barcelona coach Tito Vilanova says he is proud with the effort shown by his players despite playing with ten men for most of the game.

The Catalans saw their one-goal advantage from the first leg held at the Camp Nou cancelled when Madrid scored two goals inside the opening twenty minutes through Gonzalo Higuain and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Vilanova's side were then reduced to ten men in the 27th minute when defender Adriano was shown a straight red card for a foul on Ronaldo, but they managed to pull a goal back through Lionel Messi and came close to equalising on a few occasions late in the second half.

"This is the proudest I've been of my players, they played the whole second half down a man," Vilanova told the club's website.

"In the second half we created up to five very clear chances to score against an opponent that didn't leave their own half of the pitch."

Midfielder Sergio Busquets, on the other hand, said he was disappointed with their inability to make use of the chances they created.

2012-08-29 MADRID-BARCELONA 40-Optimized"I'm upset that we were better both in the away leg and in the return leg," said Busquets.

"Despite playing with 10 players, we had more chances to score.

"I'm very proud of my team-mates, when things aren't going well, like today, they always go forward but it wasn't meant to be despite the fact that we created chances."

"Barcelona will look to continue with their good form in La Liga when they face Valencia at the Camp Nou on Sunday.

"I think we were the better side and we have to focus on the positive aspects of the game, on Sunday we have a Liga match; we're leaders and this isn't going to stop," Busquets said.

"This Sunday against Valencia we'll go out to win the match, we're leaders in the Liga and I hope we can maintain the top spot."

Rais wa Gambia amuoa binti mwenye miaka 22

THE Gambian President, Alhaji Sheikh Prof. Dr. Yahaya Abdul Aziz Jamus Junkung Jammeh, reportedly tied the knot with a 22-year-old charming Ghanaian lady in Kumasi last weekend.

Mrs. Nora Jammeh, formerly called Munira Yahaya, a graduate of Sunyani Polytechnic, was engaged to the Gambian president two weeks ago in The Gambia, which was followed by the secret wedding at the Golden Tulip Hotel in Kumasi last Sunday.

The Gambian president was not present at the function but was represented by H.E. Huseini Yaba, the Gambian Ambassador to Nigeria, who has oversight responsibilities in Ghana.

Three leading officials of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) administration, whose names are being withheld, reportedly played vital roles in the organization of the successful wedding ceremony.

The wedding was low key because the Gambian president did not want the media to make so much noise about him and his pretty-looking bride.

But the matter, which had been kept secret for almost 48 hours, finally found its way to the public domain on Tuesday morning, following investigations by Omanhene Yaw Adu Boakye, Morning Show Host of Kessben FM in Kumasi.

When Omanhene asked Munira whether she had personally met her husband President Yahaya Jammeh, she replied that they met in the Gambian about two weeks ago when they had their engagement ceremony.

On whether she would further her education now that she had got married to the Gambian president, Mrs.
Jammeh said plans had been made in advance for her to continue her education in the USA soon.

Meanwhile, information making the rounds in Kumasi indicated that President Jammeh when he was serving as a soldier, offered help to the mother of his new wife, who was then a Ghanaian living in the Gambia.

Nora Jammeh’s mother was so touched by the benevolence of the Gambian leader that she promised to give her pretty daughter in Ghana in marriage to him when the little girl became ripe for marriage.

Nora’s mother since then kept constant touch with President Jammeh and she finally kept her promise by offering her beautiful daughter to the Gambian leader in marriage this year.

‘It has been 47 years since that tall, kind of charming young man brought me home from our first dance,’ she said. ‘Not every day since has been easy.

‘He has tried to live his life with a set of values centered on family, faith, and love of one's fellow man. From the time we were first married, I've seen him spend countless hours helping others.

‘I've seen him drop everything to help a friend in trouble, and been there when late-night calls of panic came from a member of our church whose child had been taken to the hospital.’

Wake za watu waleweshwa gesti, wapigwa picha uchi

THE gruesome killing of Cynthia Osokogu, the only daughter of Maj.-Gen. Frank Osokogu, (rtd) by two undergraduates on July 22, 2012, in Festac Town, Lagos State, has highlighted the frightening danger behind befriending strangers on the social networks like Facebook, Twitter, Myspace, e.t.c.

Investigations by Crime Alert into the web of criminality associated with social networks revealed startling cases worse than that of Cynthia Osokogu.

Such cases, unfortunately, involved mostly married women who out of adventure or deprivation, got engaged to male friends on the social network only to end up being photographed nude.

Checks carried out in and around Lagos revealed that those that befriend the mature women are usually young men who capitalize on the naivety of their victims to lure them into hotels or exclusive guest houses where they would end up being drugged.

After which  photographs of their nude encounters would be recorded and used to fleece them off millions of naira.

Many of these victims, over time, have found it increasingly difficult to confront their blackmailers for fear of having their nude photos posted on the internet or having their clandestine activities exposed to their husbands.

Those who braced up to the challenge by damning the adverse consequences to lodge a report to the police always insisted on holding it close to their chests.

They pay the police handsomely urging them not to reveal their secrets.

Police sources who took part during investigation of some of these cases told Crime Alert that some of the suspects arrested during investigations of these blackmail cases were young men who were formally into internet fraud commonly known as Yahoo Yahoo.

They reportedly resorted into blackmailing and robbing innocent unsuspecting social media users since internet scams became difficult to reap from.

Sources also added that these cases are common within Festac Town, Satellite Town and Amuwo Odofin areas of Lagos State and they are perpetuated in hotels situated around obscured parts of these areas, the source who craved anonymity, stated.

It was discovered that most of these crimes are usually aided by some staff of the hotels where they are perpetuated.

These hotels and guest houses are located in hidden corners of the estates or in some cases positioned at the end of street closes.

Normally, they are not easily identifiable as the owners deliberately or otherwise do not place signboards for easy location, especially by their victims.

A Commercial motorcyclists who also spoke under the guise of anonymity narrated scaring stories about the physical condition of their passengers after visiting such hidden resorts.

MANCHESTER CITY wanamtaka Theo Walcott

Theo Walcott

MANCHESTER CITY are set to make a £12million swoop for Arsenal star Theo Walcott.

City boss Roberto Mancini has targeted the England flier after Swansea blocked his bid for Scott Sinclair.

Walcott, 23, is in the final year of his contract and has been linked with a move to Liverpool.

But Mancini is desperate to sign a wideman before the transfer window shuts on Friday after losing Adam Johnson to Sunderland last week.

The champions are hoping they can turn the screw on Arsenal over Walcott — like Manchester United did with £22m Robin van Persie.

Walcott, who has scored 26 goals in 151 League appearances for the Gunners, was dropped to the bench for Sunday’s draw at Stoke.

He was signed for £5m from Southampton in 2006.

"This man will not fail. This man will not let us down," Mrs. Romney said in a prime-time speech that sounded at times like a heart-to-heart talk among women and at times like a testimonial to her husband's little-known softer side.

"It's the moms who always have to work harder, to make everything right," she said.

And she vouched firmly for her husband, who lags behind Obama in surveys among women voters: "You can trust Mitt. He loves America."

A couple in Umunede Ika South Local Government Area of the state has been arrested by the delta state police for allegedly selling their 7-day-old baby to fund the treatment of their sick older son.

According to the Police authorities in the area, the parents of the baby, Mabel and her husband (surname withheld) including three others has been arrested on a tip-off.

The police authority further explained that, the couple upon interrogation, said it was poverty forced them to give up their new born baby to pay for the treatment of their two-year-old son.

Although the police confirmed that they were subsequently released, it was disclosed that some neighbours who had been married for years without a child, offered the couple N200, 000.

Mwanamke aumiza wanaume kwa ndoa feki, atimka na fedha

A young runaway bride from Kerala, India, is being chased by police after leaving countless men with broken hearts and empty pockets.

Shahanaz, believed to be 33, has allegedly married over a dozen men in the last few years.

Though some reports claimed she has 'married' over 50 times, officials claim that only 15 have surfaced.

Shahanaz first
married approximately 11 years ago to a man named Siddique, with whom she had a child.

However, her marriage-spree only came to light when two of her husbands approached the Chennai Police and follow up complaints were made by several other victims.

A total of seven formal complaints have now been made against her but it is possible many more embarrassed victims exist.

The first to submit a complaint was a Manikandan, 24, who works at a car showroom.

Shahanaz told him she was in search of a man that had cheated on her friend after promising to marry her.

According to the Indian Express, the two spoke many times over the phone and soon became close.

She told him that she was orphaned early in life and claimed to be an advocate at the Madras High Court.

She also said that she was studying for civil service examinations.

The two got married in April without the approval of Manikandan’s parents.

Two months later, Shahanaz convinced Manikandan that she needed to stay in a women’s hostel so that she could prepare for civil service.

Manikandan claimed he sold the jewels he had bought for the wedding so that Shahanaz had some money to take with her when she left.

Two weeks later, she went missing from the hostel and is yet to be traced.

As the city police started probing the case, another person, Prasanna, a district level football player, came forward saying he too had married her some years ago.

Once again she cited civil service preparations as a reason to move into a hostel and then disappeared
with his valuables

According to Prasanna, there was an incident when another person claimed that Shahanaz was his wife and approached the police.

The inspector at the women's police station questioned both parties, but allowed Shahanaz to go with Prasanna after the woman told the officials that the other person, Suresh, was a just a friend while Prasanna was her husband.

The couple also produced a photo album of their marriage to strengthen their claim.

Police have now found out that
Shahanaz has also married others including: a Rajesh, a Chandrababu and a Saravanan. More names are still emerging.

Police are now pursuing the thief and they suspect she may have been involved in other criminal activities as well.
